Fourth-Place EOU Paces CCC in Latest NAIA Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

CLEVELAND – In the final set of winter NAIA Learfield Directors’ Cup standings released Thursday, Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) remains in first in the NAIA with 532 points and Eastern Oregon still leads the Cascade Collegiate Conference, moving up four spots to fourth place.
EOU scored in five sports during the winter: its women’s basketball team reached the quarterfinals of the NAIA Division II Championships, its men’s basketball team reached the second round, its men’s wrestling team took 24th and its indoor track and field teams placed 18th (men) and 42nd (women). The Mountaineers’ total of 479 points is followed in the CCC by 11th-place College of Idaho (347.5), 17th-place Southern Oregon (322.5) and 45th-place Oregon Tech (214) in the top-50.
Four more CCC teams are among the 175 total in the NAIA that have scored with national tournament appearances: 71st-place Northwest Christian (143), 73rd-place Corban (142), 85th-place Northwest (Wash.) (121) and 124th-place Warner Pacific (57).
Oklahoma City moved up four spots to second with 501.50 points, after winning the women’s NAIA Division I basketball championship and a 17th place finish in the men’s NAIA Division I basketball tournament. Hastings dropped down a place to third with 482.00 points, after a 17th place finish in the women’s NAIA Division II basketball tournament. Biola rounds out the top five with 464.50 points after a 17th place finish in both the women’s and men’s NAIA Division I basketball tournaments.
The Sooner, Great Plains, Golden State and Chicagoland Conferences lead all NAIA conferences in the top 10 with two institutions each – Oklahoma City (2nd) and Wayland Baptist (7th) from the Sooner, Hastings (3rd) and Morningside (9th) from the Great Plains, Biola (5th) and Westmont (6th) from the Golden State and from the Chicagoland, Olivet Nazarene (8th) and St. Francis (IL) (10th).
The standings will be final when all spring NAIA Championships have concluded.
