Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period of March 20-26:
Baseball-Pitcher
British Columbia’s Connor Noble has been named the Red Lion baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Noble, a senior from Vancouver, B.C., threw seven shutout innings in UBC’s 7-0 victory against The College of Idaho on Friday. He scattered seven hits, struck out six, walked one and allowed just two Yotes to reach base over his final four frames. He’s now 4-0 on the season and his 1.31 ERA is the best in the NAIA West Grouping.

Baseball-Player
Lewis-Clark State’s Raymond Pedrina has been named the Red Lion baseball Player of the Week.
Pedrina, a junior center fielder from Kapolei, Hawaii, went 8-for-20 at the plate as the Warriors picked up a two-game sweep at Northwest Nazarene and a 2-1 series win against Corban. He scored eight runs on the week, hit a home run and was issued four walks. His team-leading batting average is up to .365.

Softball-Pitcher
Carroll College’s Allison Williams has been named the Red Lion softball Pitcher of the Week.
Williams, a freshman from Kalispell, Mont., pitched 10 innings of four-hit, shutout ball in two appearances during the Saints’ weekend sweep of Northwest Christian. She pitched a complete-game three-hitter with six strikeouts and two walks in a 1-0 win Friday, and allowed the Saints to come back for a 5-4 win with three innings of scoreless relief on Saturday with two strikeouts and no walks.

Softball-Player
Southern Oregon’s Kelsey Randall has been named the Red Lion softball Player of the Week.
Randall, a junior shortstop from Concord, Calif., went 9-for-14 in SOU’s four-game sweep of British Columbia with three runs and a pair of doubles. She extended her hitting streak to 14 games, a period in which she’s batted .608 (31-for-51), and also played error-free defense with a career-high 12 assists in the series opener. She’s fielded cleanly and turned into outs 45 straight ground balls since her last error.

Men’s Outdoor-Track
Eastern Oregon’s Jebarri Cumberbatch has been named the Red Lion men’s outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Cumberbatch, a sophomore from Christ Church, Barbados, on Saturday became an automatic qualifier for the NAIA Championships in the 100-meter dash (10.59 seconds) and the 200 (21.41) in his wins at the EOU Team Challenge. His times were the fastest in the CCC since at least 2009 and currently rank fifth (100) and seventh (200) on the NAIA lists.

Men’s Outdoor-Field
Oregon Tech’s Seth Gretz has been named the Red Lion men’s outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Gretz, a junior All-American from Rogue River, Ore., won two events at Saturday’s Eastern Oregon Team Challenge – the pole vault with a mark of 15 feet 9 inches, and the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.25 seconds. His pole vault mark met the NAIA ‘A’ standard, is No. 2 on the national list and No. 2 in school history, and the hurdles time currently tops the CCC.

Women’s Outdoor-Track
Northwest’s Lily Engelbrekt has been named the Red Lion women’s outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Engelbrekt, a junior from Seattle, met the 800-meter NAIA ‘B’ standard for the second meet in a row with a time of 2:15.48 for third place at Saturday’s Seattle Pacific Doris Heritage Distance Festival. It was the third-best time in the NAIA this season. She was also third in the 5,000-meter run in 18:56.66 against NCAA competition.

Women’s Outdoor-Field
Northwest Christian’s Bailey Dell has been named the Red Lion women’s outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the third week in a row.
Bell, a junior from La Salle, Ontario, broke the NCU school record with a throw of 162 feet 6 inches – the top mark in the NAIA this season – at Saturday’s Willamette Invitational to top a field of 29 athletes. She’d previously already established an NAIA ‘A’ mark, but the latest was the second-longest throw in the NAIA over the past three seasons.
