KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.-  Senior Cassidy Hoglund hit a 2-out RBI double to score Ali Graham with the game winner in the bottom of the 7th as No. 22 Oregon Tech won back-to-back games in walk-offs, sweeping a Cascade Conference doubleheader from Corban University. Tech improves to 8-3 in CCC action and 17-5 on the year; Corban falls to 20-6 on the year and 8-3 in CCC play with today’s result.
 
In game one, Tech’s Rachael Delamare (Pictured) hit a walk-off 2-run home run in the bottom of the 8th to lift the Owls to a 7-5 win.
 
Tech’s Loryn Williams picked up both wins in the circle for Oregon Tech as she improved to 4-4 on the year.
 
Game 1 – Oregon Tech 7 Corban 5 (8-innings)
 
OIT jumped out to a 3-0 lead scoring 3-runs in the bottom of the 2nd on 4-hits highlighted by a Cassidy Hoglund 2-RBI double.
 
The Warriors quickly answered, tying the game at 3-3 on a Jessie Isham 3-run home run in the third inning, her 7th long ball of the season.
 
Corban then took a 5-3 lead with 2-more runs in the top of the fourth chasing Tech starter Kelly Scott from the game. Enter Williams for OIT, as she pitched the final 3 and 1/3 shut-out innings only allowing 2-hits to pick-up the win.
 
Tech tied the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the 5th with 2-runs on 3-hits including a Sadie Birch 2-run double.
 
Neither team could generate any runs in the final two innings, forcing the extra frame. After the Warriors went down in the top of the 8th Tech needed just 1-run to win the game in the bottom of the inning. They got it as Brittany Verigan drew a 2-out walk then Delamare blasted her 2nd home run of the season, a monster blast to left center giving the Owls the 7-5 walk-off win.
 
Rachel White picked up the loss in circle for Corban slipping to 2-1 on the year.
 
Game 2 – Oregon Tech 5 Corban 4
 
Corban started hot, scoring 3-runs in the first inning on a big 3-run homer off the bat of Raimee Sluder her 3rd of the season.
 
The Hooter quickly answered, scoring 2-run in the bottom of the 1st on 3-hits including an Ali Graham double.
 
Tech’s Loryn Williams entered the game to start the 2nd inning relieving Graham. Williams pitched the final 6-innings allowing just 1-run on 6-hits.
 
Corban extended their lead to 4-2 in the 4th inning, scoring on an RBI single by Aubrene Blas.
 
Tech made it a 4-3 game with run in the bottom of the 6th on a Sydni Scott infield single but the Owls left the bases loaded to end the inning.
 
After Corban failed to score in the top of the 7th, Tech entered the bottom of the inning needing 1-run to tie and 2-runs to win.
 
Katie Virtue got the inning off to a great start with a lead-off double. Virtue tied the game at 4-4 on a Graham 1-out, RBI single. Birch then got a big 2-out single moving Graham to second. Hoglund then put on the cape, lacing a double to right center scoring Graham with the game winner as Tech won 5-4 with yet another walk-off.
 
Allie Mendez pitched all 7-innings picking up the loss for the Warriors as she falls to 8-3 on the year.
 
Taylor Eilders, and Maddy Melton had 4-hits in the double-header with Aubrene Blas adding 3-hits to the Warriors.
 
The two teams will wrap-up the season series Tuesday at noon at Oregon Tech. Game one will be a conference game with game 2 being a non-conference game.
