INDIO, Calif. – While taking on some of the top NCAA Division III competition in the country, the Corban University women's golf team tied for fifth overall at the OGIO Bulldog Classic on Monday and Tuesday at the Indian Springs Golf Club.
"I was very pleased with our team's performance today, battling through windy conditions the whole tournament," said Corban head coach Tom Graves. "Congrats to Carrie and Jessica on new college PR's. We have a lot of good momentum heading into our first conference event of the spring!"

While golfing through high winds both days, Corban showed improvement from day one to day two, improve by 14 strokes as a team en route to totaling 646 (330, 316) for the tournament to tie for fifth overall. The team score of 316 in round two was the third-best score of the eight teams competing on day two.
Casey Jansen and Carrie Wallace led the way for the Navy and Gold, with both players tying for eighth place overall with a two-round mark of 157. Jansen signed her scorecard with an 80 on day one and a 77 on day two, while Wallace improved by nine strokes from round one to two, recording scores of 83 and 74. The 74 for Wallace is a career-best mark.
Jansen led all golfers at the tournament in par-three scoring, averaging 2.88 strokes on the par-three holes. Wallace performed well on the par-four holes, ranking sixth overall at 4.30 strokes per hole. Both players racked up four birdies each to lead the way for Corban. Additionally, Jansen totaled a team-best 18 pars over the course of the two rounds.
Jenna Jensen finished as Corban's third-best golfer with a two-round mark of 166 (81, 85), while Jessica McCourt notched a career-best round of 82 in round two to finish with a total of 168 (86, 82).
Rounding out the Warrior scorers was Faith Udy with a tournament total of 171 (88, 83).
Corban competes at the UCSC Invitational at the Pacific Grove Golf Links on Saturday and Sunday with the Warrior 'B' squad, and then the Corban 'A' team will compete at the Multnomah Invite at the Stone Creek GC on Monday and Tuesday.
