The Eagles improved their NAIA "A" qualifying time by over three seconds as they ran the distance in 12:03.67 in a closely contested heat one of the semifinal. They move on to Saturday's final which will be held at 4:20 pm ET. Oklahoma City ran the fastest DMR coming in with a time of 12:02.79 with the next three teams coming within hundredths of a second. St. Francis was second in at 12:03.54, Northwest U was in at 12:03.67 and Southern Oregon right behind the Eagles with a 12:03.71 setting up an exciting final on Saturday. Lily Engelbrekt led off the relay running the 1200m followed by Shandon Lystad in the 400m; Sarah Estabrook in the 800m; and Cassidy Brown with the 1600m. Shandon Lystad had just returned from Mexico where she was completing studies for her Nursing major and left immediately for Tennessee upon returning to Kirkland. NU's Riley Sine is up next in Saturday's final of the men's 5000m in a field of 16 runners with Sine the only entrant from the Cascade Conference.
