College of Idaho Baseball Named Team of the Week
LA GRANDE, Ore. – The College of Idaho’s baseball team has been named “Team of the Week” for February 27-March 5, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
The Yotes captured 3 of 4 NAIA West contests vs. Corban to move into first place in the standings at 3-1.
On Saturday CI defeated the Warriors 1-0 in the first game of the double header before dropping the nightcap 0-5. In the CI win Zach Draper tossed a complete game 5-hit shutout while Cole Mansanarez blasted a seventh inning solo homer to secure the victory.
On Sunday the offense for the Yotes came alive as they swept the Warriors 11-4 and 13-5. In the opener Niall Manning tossed seven strong innings giving up only 5- hits. In the second game Hunter Hanson and Austin Van Horne hit grand slams to erase a 5-1 Corban lead.
College of Idaho (10-11, 3-1 NAIA West) will travel to Oregon Tech on March 11-12 for four NAIA West games.
