MERIDIAN, Idaho – Three teams are separated by just five strokes after Day 1 of the College of Idaho Invitational on the difficult Club at SpurWing track.
 
Oregon Tech (329) holds the overall lead at 45-over-par, one stroke ahead of Division II Northwest Nazarene (330) and five shots clear of host C of I (334) on the 5,879, par-71 course.
 
Janelle Ferlan leads three OIT competitors in the Top-10 at 7-over-par, three strokes behind Day 1 leaders Casey Jansen of Corban and Samantha Miller of NNU, who each carded 4-over-par 75s. Heidi Froelich and Stephanie Koza each shot 83s for the Owls.
 
The Coyotes got three Top-10 performances, with Kaily Beatty (81), Lexi Oropeza (83) and Natalie Mullins (84) leading the way on the windy morning.
 
Corban got a solid effort from Jenna Jensen (80), with NNU getting an 8-over-par 79 from Stephanie Miller.
 
Three other teams competed with individuals, as Rachel Weros (90) led Multnomah; Brittany Teraoka (100) led Warner Pacific and Linsey Shearer (109) led Walla Walla.
 
Tomorrow’s final round will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. (MDT)
