Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period of April 17-23:
Baseball-Pitcher
British Columbia’s Connor Noble has been named the Red Lion baseball pitcher of the week.
Noble, a senior from Vancouver, B.C., recorded a complete-game victory for the second time in three starts Saturday in a series-opener against Oregon Tech. He gave up just four hits and two runs (one earned) with five strikeouts and one walk in a 112-pitch performance as the Thunderbirds won, 4-2. He improved to 7-0 on the season, and lowered his earned-run average to 1.49, both of which are NAIA West-leading figures.
Honorable mention: Connor Brogdon, Lewis-Clark State; Avery Wood, Oregon Tech
Baseball-Player
Lewis-Clark State’s J.J. Robinson has been named the Red Lion baseball Player of the Week for the second week in a row.
Robinson, a senior first baseman from Colfax, Wash., continued his hot hitting by going 7-for-14 with three home runs and nine RBI as the Warriors swept a four-game series against College of Idaho. He leads the team with 16 homers and 55 RBI this season.

Softball-Pitcher
Oregon Tech’s Loryn Williams has been named the Red Lion softball Pitcher of the Week for the second time this year.
Williams, a sophomore from Portland, Ore., picked up two wins and a save as the Owls swept a three-game series on the road at Great Falls over the weekend. She total 12 innings and allowed only an unearned run, recording eight strikeouts and one walk while allowing six hits. In her start, the tossed a seven-inning, three-hit shutout with four strikeouts as the Owls won 4-0.

Softball-Player
Corban’s Taylor Eilders has been named the Red Lion softball Player of the Week.
Eilders, a senior outfielder from Cameron Park, Calif., racked up 12 hits this weekend as the Warriors took three of four from Eastern Oregon, including all three CCC contests. She registered a .666 batting average, scored six runs, hit three doubles and two triples and totaled six RBI. In addition, she stole two bases.

Men’s Outdoor-Track
Oregon Tech’s Seth Gretz has been named the Red Lion men’s outdoor Track Athlete of the Week after winning the decathlon at the CCC Multi-Event Championships on Thursday and Friday in Hermiston.
Gretz, a junior from Rogue River, Ore., claimed his second title in as many years by winning four of 10 events – the 100-meter dash, the 110-meter hurdles, the pole vault and the long jump. His point total of 6,760 moved him to the No. 2 slot on the OIT all-time list and put him at No. 2 on the current NAIA list.

Men’s Outdoor-Field
Eastern Oregon thrower Pancho Saldana has been named the Red Lion men’s outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Saldana, a senior from Milton-Freewater, Ore., once again broke his own Mountaineer record in the javelin, throwing 63.26 meters Saturday at the Clackamas Cougar Open. He won an 18-person field and further solidified his first-place standing on the NAIA list.

Women’s Outdoor-Field
Eastern Oregon’s Paige Dodd has been named the Red Lion women’s outdoor Field Athlete of the Week after winning the heptathlon at the CCC Multi-Event Championships on Thursday and Friday in Hermiston.
Dodd, a sophomore from Burbank, Wash., was competing in her first-ever heptathlon and amassed 4,443 points, the seventh-highest total in the NAIA this season. She was first place in the high jump (1.59m), second in the shot put (9.28m) and second in the javelin (32.01m), ending the first and second days atop the leaderboard.
