Lady Owls Sweep Carroll College
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.- Rachael Delamare had three hits including her 3
rd home run of the season to lift No. 25 Oregon Tech past Carroll College 6-4 in game two as the Owls completed a Cascade Conference doubleheader sweep of the Saints, the Owls won game one, 11-7 at the OIT Softball Complex. Oregon Tech improves to 23-7 on the year and 13-4 in CCC play with the Saints slipping to 7-7 in CCC action and 10-11 overall with today’s results.
Game 1 – Oregon Tech 11 Carroll College 7
The Fighting Saints jumped out on the Owls with 4-runs in the first inning on 5-hits including a 3-run homer off the bat of Tianna Sells her 2
nd HR of the season.
Tech answered with 2-runs of their own on 2-hits highlighted by a Rashaun Sells 2-RBI triple.
The hits kept coming for the Saints as they jumped out to a 6-2 lead scoring 2-runs in the top of the 2
nd on 3-hits.
Down 6-2 entering the bottom of the 2
nd, Tech exploded for 8-runs on 6-hits, taking advantage of 2-Carroll errors and a pair of walks to take a 10-6 lead.
Each team would add a run in the 5
th as the game ended 11-7 in favor of the Owls.
Ali Graham pitched the final 6 and two thirds picking up the win to improve to 7-0 on the season.
Sydni Scott led the Owls with three hits.
Carroll out-hit OIT 13-9 with 3-players having 3-hits in the game including Anna Aproberts, Allison Williams, and Ashley Davis.
Game 2 – Oregon Tech 6 Carroll College 4
Kelly Scott pitched a complete game for OIT in game 2 allowing 4-runs on 8-hits to improve to 10-2 on the year.
Tech scored 1-run in the 1
st on 3-hits. The Owls then added 2-runs in the 2
nd on doubles by Cassidy Hoglund and Delamare.
Tech broke open the game with 2 more runs in the 3
rd inning to take a 5-0 lead.
Carroll finally got on the scoreboard in the 4
th with 2-runs on 2-hits and an OIT error.
Delamare then hit her 3
rd homer of the season to put Tech up 6-2 in the bottom of the 4
th.
The Saints added 2-runs in the 7
th but could not get any closer as the game ended with Tech winning 6-4.
Sydni Scott finished the day with 5-hits in 6 at bats including a 2 for 3 effort in game two.
The two teams will wrap-up their season series with a doubleheader on Monday at 1:00 pm at the OIT Softball Field.
