The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period of April 24-30:

Baseball-Pitcher
Lewis-Clark State’s Matt Fish has been named the Red Lion baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Fish, a senior from Kalamazoo, Mich., pitched a complete game and didn’t allow an earned run in a 4-3 win at Corban on Saturday. He improved to 6-1 overall with the four-hit, six-strikeout performance, allowing only three baserunners after the second inning and retiring 13 batters in a row at one point. The complete game was his second of the season.

Honorable mention: Anthony Martine, College of Idaho

Baseball-Player
Lewis-Clark State’s J.J. Robinson has been named the Red Lion baseball Player of the Week for the third straight week.

Robinson, a senior first baseman from Colfax, Wash., stayed on his roll with a 6-for-18 weekend at Corban that included three home runs, a double, six RBI and four runs scored. He helped the 17th-ranked Warriors extend their winning streak to 15 games – the ninth-longest in school history – by taking the first three in the series and finished the regular season with 13 homers and 46 RBI.

Softball-Pitcher
British Columbia’s Lindsey Ogilvie has been named the Red Lion softball Pitcher of the Week.

Ogilvie, a senior from Surrey, B.C., put together an outstanding three-start weekend to lift the Thunderbirds to their first-ever CCC Tournament appearance. She tossed three complete games, including two shutouts – totaling 19 innings, allowing 13 hits and one earned run, and striking out 10 with one walk. On Friday, she pitched UBC to an 8-1 win over Northwest Christian as part of a four-game sweep of the Beacons. That set up a deciding series Sunday against Carroll, with the winner taking the conference’s final postseason spot, and she tossed a three-hit shutout in the opener as the Thunderbirds won 3-0. She took the ball again in Game 2 and went all five innings, allowing five hits in an 11-0 victory that kept the season alive.

Honorable mention: Loryn Williams, Oregon Tech; Sadee Sorensen, College of Idaho

Softball-Player
Oregon Tech’s Tara Moates has been named the Red Lion softball Player of the Week.

Moates, a junior from Klamath Falls, Ore., went an astounding 10-for-11 with three home runs, four doubles and four walks in the Owls’ four-game sweep of Northwest (Wash.). The two-time NAIA All-American set an OIT record in the opener with nine RBI on two home runs (including a grand slam) and a pair of doubles. Her slugging percentage for the series was a cartoonish 2.091, another Tech record, and her season batting average went to .538 in conference play. She’s on pace to break every major Owls batting record.

Honorable mention: Lexie Brenneis, British Columbia

Men’s Outdoor-Track
Northwest hurdler TJ Randle has been named the Red Lion men’s outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Randle, a junior from Tacoma, Wash., won his second 400-meter hurdles race in as many weeks as he defeated an all-NCAA field of 10 with a time of 54.23 seconds on Saturday at Western Washington’s Ralph Vernacchia Meet. A week earlier, he’d established an NAIA ‘A’ time that still ranks second nationally this season. He also placed sixth in a highly competitive 110-meter hurdles race with a time of 15.62.

Honorable mention: Thomas Morrell III, Eastern Oregon; Dwight Shaw, Southern Oregon

Men’s Outdoor-Field
Northwest Christian thrower Christian Hackney has been named the Red Lion men’s outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Hackney, a junior from La Salle, Ontario, was the top collegiate finisher at the Oregon State High Performance Meet on Saturday with an NAIA ‘A’ standard javelin throw of 57.84 meters (189 feet 9 inches). The toss was the third-longest of his career, and he continues to rank second on the CCC and seventh on the NAIA lists.

Honorable mention: Juston Lindsley, College of Idaho

Women’s Outdoor-Track
Eastern Oregon’s Katie Emerson has been named the Red Lion women’s outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Emerson, a sophomore from Almira, Wash., was in on two NAIA ‘A’ standard times Saturday at the Boise State Border Clash. She won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.12, the ninth-fastest in the nation this season. She then ran the lead leg on the Mountaineers’ 4x400 relay team that finished in 3:54.52, shooting to No. 12 on the national list and qualifying automatically for the national meet.

Honorable mention: Sierra Brown, Northwest Christian; Aspen Abbott, Southern Oregon

Women’s Outdoor-Field
College of Idaho thrower Hayley Morse has been named the Red Lion women’s outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Morse, a junior from Boise, Idaho, placed second in a pair of disciplines Friday and Saturday at the Boise State Border Clash. She crushed a school record in the hammer with a mark of 157 feet 1 inch, tops in the CCC this season. She also had the second-best C of I shot put of all time at 43-7 ¾, meeting an NAIA ‘B’ standard with another top conference mark.

Honorable mention: Anna Miller, Northwest (Wash.); Bailey Dell, Northwest Christian; Lauren McGowne, Southern Oregon

Men’s Golf
Northwest Christian’s Josh Goins has been named the Red Lion Men’s Golfer of the Week.

Goins, a sophomore from Lebanon, Ore., won his second consecutive CCC Championship Tournament medal last Tuesday at his home course, the Springfield Golf Club. His first-round 70 was the low round of the tournament, and he fired an even-par 72 in the second round to edge the conference Player of the Year by two strokes. He also led the Beacons to an improbable two-shot team victory over regular-season champion Corban, earning the school’s first ever men’s golf team bid to the NAIA Championships.

Women’s Golf
Oregon Tech’s Janelle Ferlan has been named the Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week.

Ferlan, a junior from Molalla, Ore., won medalist honors Tuesday at the CCC Tournament Championships in Springfield, outdistancing the field by eight shots. She carded a 74 in the first round and a 79 in the second, finishing nine-over-par for the tourney. Ferlan also won CCC Player of the Year honors while leading OIT to the CCC title for the first time in school history.
