GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Argo soccer is taking its training to the next level with new GPS tracking sensors from Titan. Each field player on the team will be assigned a sensor at the beginning of the year to track each individual's fitness and fatigue.

"These are something we've been looking at for a while. Really what it does is help us track all of the movement of our players during training so we can see exactly what their physical output is," UGF Head Coach Joseph Yeisley said. "It's also going to help us prevent injuries both from players overdoing it and also not doing enough."

The Titan sensors are tucked into a black bib that can be worn over or under a players practice and game gear. The technology tracks 16 metrics in five information categories: session, sprints, free runs, explosiveness, and load balancing.

All the information is tracked for each player and loaded into information graphics that track the day-to-day and season long trends. The sensors will be worn by each field player during every practice and game with the numbers initially compared to stock fitness models during the first year. After that numbers will be compared from year to year.

The men's soccer team is the first University of Providence team to start using GPA tracking technology.
