Oregon Tech and Corban Picked First in CCC Golf Polls
Oregon Tech and Corban University Picked to Rule CCC Golf
LA GRANDE, Ore. – Defending regular season and tournament champions Oregon Tech was named the favorite for the upcoming women’s golf season while Corban University was selected to win the men’s title according to the Cascade Collegiate Conference Golf Preseason Coaches’ Poll, released by the conference office.
The Oregon Tech Lady Owls were the unanimous choice earning all six first-place votes and a total of 36 points.
Corban was selected at second in the poll with 29 points while The College of Idaho claimed 28 points and the third place slot.
Finishing off the poll were Warner Pacific College (15) in fourth, Walla Walla University (12) in fifth and Multnomah University (9) in sixth.
On the men’s side, Corban received five first-place votes. The Warriors tallied 47 points in the poll while Oregon Tech (40) and Northwest Christian University (36) each received a first-place vote to come in at second and third respectively. Corban won the 2016-17 regular season title while Northwest Christian took top honors in the tournament gaining the leagues automatic qualifier to nationals.
Warner Pacific (28) was picked fourth followed by College of Idaho (24) in fifth, Walla Walla (12) in sixth and Multnomah (7) in seventh to round out the poll.
The 2017-18 CCC Golf Championships are slated for April 23-24 hosted by Multnomah in Portland, Ore.
