Helena, Mont. – The Wolves completed the back end of their double header in Helena, Montana as they took on the #23 Carroll College Saints (1-0).  The high-powered Saints proved to be too much for Walla Walla (0-2), taking the match in three sets.

Quick Hitters
  • Lauren Barlow led all Wolves with 7 kills
  • Five players for the Saints had at least 5 kills
  • Caldora Blackburn led the Wolves in digs with 9
  • The Wolves scored exactly 12 points in each set
  • Carroll had only 11 attack errors for the match and had nearly a 35% attack percentage as a team
How it Happened

A theme for the match would be that every time the Wolves would get within striking distance, the Saint’s would open the match back up with a big run.  In the first set, Jenn Bosler put down a kill and put the Wolves within 5 points at 8 to 13.  Carroll responded by going on a 12 to 4 run to end the set, concluded by an ace from Saint Rayna Pilgeram.

In the second set, back-to-back points put Walla Walla up 6 to 5.  Carroll responded with three quick points and took control of the rest of the set.  The Saints had a balanced attack all match, with points coming from players all over the court.  The Saint’s finished off the second set with six points in a row, concluded by a kill by Rayna Pilgeram.

Back-to-back attack errors by the Saint's put the score at 5 to 6 with Walla Walla only down a point.  Once again, when close the Saint’s would rally.  They put the match out of reach by scoring 15 points in a row.  A kill by Morgan Christy ended the match as the Saint’s beat the Wolves 25 to 12 in three straight sets.
