Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period August 21-27.
Grant Billings
Men’s Soccer – Defense
College of Idaho’s Grant Billings has been named the Red Lion men’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Billings, a senior Goalie from Boise, Idaho, made 9 saves in the Yotes tough loss to Embry-Riddle, keeping ERAU off the board until the 72nd minute.

Hayden Smedley
Men’s Soccer - Offense
Multnomah University’s Hayden Smedley, has been named the Red Lion men’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Over the last week Smedley, a freshman Forward from Sandy, Utah, racked up a .583 accuracy percentage (12 shots, 7 on goal), and totaled 9 points (4 goals, 1 assist). Smedley led the Lions to a strong 2-0 start.

Ashley Giesbers
Women’s Soccer – Offense
Ashley Giesbers of Warner Pacific has been named the Red Lion women’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Giesbers, a sophomore forward from St. Helens, Ore., averaged two points per game over the last week. In the Knight’s season opener, Geisbers scored two goals to lead Warner Pacific to their second ever win over Corban.

Amanda Miller
Volleyball - Attacker
Eastern Oregon’s Amanda Miller has been chosen as the Red Lion volleyball attacker of the week.
Miller, a senior from Kennewick, Wash., helped lead the No. 11 NAIA ranked team to a 4-0 sweep at the Big Sky Challenge. Over four games Miller recorded 51 kills with a kill average of 3.64/game.

Haley Wells
Volleyball - Defender
Corban’s Haley Wells has been named the Red Lion volleyball Defender of the Week.
Wells, a senior from Albany, Ore., led the Warriors defensively totaling 98 digs, averaging 5.15 digs over the weekend. Her defensive work aided in Corban’s first two victories over top-25 ranked opponents.

Marija Djonovic
Volleyball-Setter
College of Idaho’s Marija Djonovic has been named the Red Lion volleyball Setter of the Week.
Djonovic, a junior from Podorica, Montenegro, averaged more than 12 assists per set over the last four games, as the Yotes beat three ranked teams in sharing the tourney title of the Big Sky Challenge. The Yotes ran their winning streak to 8-0.

Brittany Houghton
Women’s Soccer – Defense
College of Idaho’s Brittany Houghton has been named the Red Lion women’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Houghton, a senior Goalie from Saratoga Springs, Utah, totaled 15 outstanding goal saves despite the triple digit heat while in Arizona.
