WOLVES HOT START NOT ENOUGH TO STOP WILDCATS
College Place, Wash. – The Wolves travel to McMinnville, Oregon to play the Linfield College Wildcats today. Walla Walla (0-1) started the match out with an early lead, but the Wolves were not able to hang on and dropped the match 8-2.

How it Happened
Linfield struck first on a Ryan Kister goal that was score off a cross from Malachi Stalberg to put the Wildcats up 1-0. Walla Walla wasted little time answering, and by the 18-minute mark, the Wolves had taken the lead 2-1. Those goals came from Freshman Forward, Zach Christensen, and both were off penalty kicks. At around the 30-minute mark, Linfield answered with a penalty kick of their own to tie. Just before the half, Linfield's Andrew Fischer notched a goal from 35-yards out and put the Wildcats up 4-2 headed into the break.
Walla Walla had several opportunities to even the match back up in the second half, but it was the Wildcats who applied the most pressure in the final 45 minutes. In the 67th minute Alejandro Lee-Perez notch a goal from 10-yards out to put Linfield up 8-2 for the final goal of the match.

Next week Walla Walla has their final scrimmage of the season against Edmonds Community College. They open league play at home the following week, hosting Carroll College on September 15.
