ATHERTON, Calif. – The Rocky Mountain College women’s soccer team suffered its first loss of the season in a 3-0 contest at Menlo College (Calif.) on Friday evening at Wunderlich Field.
 
Rocky Mountain (1-1) fell behind in the 36th minute on a goal from Danielle Robinson. Menlo (2-1-1) extended the advantage to 2-0 in the 60th minute when Maya Mogensen scored. The game’s final tally came from Karla Uribe in the 85th minute.
 
The Battlin’ Bears were outshot in the game 14-9 and they only got four of those nine chances on goal. Rita Marshall led the team with three shots and two on goal.
 
Menlo finished with a 5-2 edge in corner kicks and they held he Bears scoreless with three second-half saves.
 
Maia Wetzel suffered the loss on goal for Rocky with three saves.
 
The Bears continue their busy weekend in northern California on Saturday when they visit NCAA Division III foe, Mills College at 5 p.m. MT.
