How it Happened
Right away the Argos put pressure on the Wolves. Keeper Kohl Tomcho and defenders Damien Dennis and David Cruz played tough but the Argos were able to find cracks in the defense. In the ninth minute, Adrian Gomez found Christoffer Bisbo on a cross from the left to a one touch shot that found the top right corner of the goal to put Providence up 1-0. Just three minutes later, Christoffer found the net again to put the Argos up 2-0.
While the score was lopsided in the first half, the Wolves put serious pressure on Providence late in the half. With ten minutes to go the Wolves came very close to scoring on back-to-back corner kicks, with an attempt sailing just over the top of the goal. The Argos keeper Marc Girones, kept the net clean and carried a shutout into the half, with Providence leading 5-0.
Providence continue to put the pressure on the Wolves, scoring three more goals in the second period. In the 79th minute, Christoffer Bisbo scored his 5th goal of the match, and four minutes later George Holloway scored the 8th and final goal of the match. Keeper Marc Girones gets credit for the shutout.
