No. 9 Warrior Volleyball Sweeps Warner Pacific in CCC-Opener
PORTLAND, Ore. – The No. 9-ranked Corban University volleyball team swept Warner Pacific College on Friday evening (25-16, 25-14, 25-17) on the road, capturing the victory in the 2017 Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) opener.
WP could not get much going versus the Warriors hitting just .113 on the night, while Corban committed just nine errors.
Janessa Mast swung for led the Knights with nine kills and
Lauren Tennyson added seven, but Corban was strong at the net with seven total blocks compared to just one for WPC.
The dominant performance from the Warriors was highlighted by a season-best .427 attack percentage as a team, including a .682 hitting mark in the second set. Corban also out-performed Warner Pacific at the net, totaling seven total blocks to just one for the Knights (0-1).
Corban maintained control throughout the evening, and the combination of
Cierra Leopoldino and
Madison McLain kept the offensive moving quickly with quality sets. Leopoldino led the way with 17 assists, while McLain totaled 14.
The Knights will try to rebound versus Northwest Christian on Saturday while Corban visits Multnomah. First serve is at 5pm.
