SPRINGFIELD, Ore. –Corban University took a commanding lead at the Northwest Christian University Invitational on Monday, owning a 22-stroke lead over Oregon Tech through the first two rounds.
 
The Warriors put a second full team into the competition and ended the day with nine of the top 13 individual finishers and both of the top two teams. The official “A” team carded an impressive 5-over 581 on the day, 20 shots better than the Corban “B” team which shot a 601.
 
Oregon Tech landed in third place overall with a 603, followed closely by host NCU in fourth at 605.
 
Individually it was Chris Carew from The College of Idaho taking the lead as he shot four-under par for the day with a 71-69—140. Heading into Tuesday’s third and final round, he holds a slim one stroke lead over Devery Stewart (pictured) from Corban (71-70—141).
 
Josh Goins, the two-time defending CCC tournament medalist, represented the hosts with a two-under 142 including matching the tourney low score with a first-round 69. Corban also had the fourth and fifth place golfers in RJ David (even-par 144) and Isaac Calderon (+1, 145).
