Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period September 21-27.
Yayo Olvera
Men’s Soccer – Defense
Yayo Olvera of Northwest Christian has been named the Red Lion men’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Olvera, a sophomore Goalie from Cardiff, Calif., completed back-to-back shutouts as the Beacons won both games on the Montana road trip this weekend. Fueling NCU’s first wins ever in the state of Montana, Olvera collected 12 saves including 7 against Carroll. His shutouts broke a tie for NCU’s all-time record and he now has six in his career.

Timur Zhividze
Men’s Soccer - Offense
Corban’s Timur Zhividze has been named the Red Lion men’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Zhividze, a senior Forward from Vancouver, Wash. and the 2016 CCC Player of the Year, scored three goals and recorded an assist in two big road wins in Montana, scoring the game-winning goal in both contests. In Saturday’s victory at Providence, he also recorded the game-tying assist.

Jackie van Vliet
Volleyball - Attacker
College of Idaho’s Jackie Van Vliet has been chosen as the Red Lion volleyball attacker of the week. Van Vliet, a junior from Twin Falls, Idaho, recorded a huge weekend with 26 kills in 46 swings with just 4 errors. Van Vliet further dominated the net with 11 total blocks
including 8 in the match against NCU, tying a season high.

Kiley McMurtrey
Volleyball - Defender
Kiley Mcmurtrey of Eastern Oregon has been chosen as the Red Lion volleyball defender of the week. Mcmurtrey, a freshman from Idaho Falls, Idaho, totaled 26 digs over the weekend; making with an average of 4.33 digs per set. Additionally, in the match against NCU, Mcmurtrey recorded 5 assists.

Marija Djonovic
Volleyball-Setter
College of Idaho’s Marija Djonovic has been named the Red Lion volleyball Setter of the Week. Djonovic, a junior from Podorica, Montenegro, averaged nearly 13 assists per set in College of Idaho’s two home wins. In the win over #16 Corban, Djonovic recorded 56 assists.

Zoey Dahme
Women’s Soccer – Defense
Zoey Dahme of Warner Pacific has been named the Red Lion women’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Dahme, a junior Goalie from Tigard, OR, made 13 saves over the weekend including 8 vital stops versus Northwest as the Knights went 1-0-1 over the weekend.

Lexi McQueary
Women’s Soccer – Offense
Corban’s Lexi Mcqueary has been named the Red Lion women’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Mcqueary, a junior Forward from Kennewick, Wash., scored one goal in a snowy draw at Carroll on Friday. Additionally, she dished out both assists in the 2-0 victory at Providence the next day.
