Lashure Records Hat Trick in 6-0 Win

ATHERTON, Calif. – The No. 20 Rocky Mountain College men’s soccer team completed a weekend sweep in northern California with a 6-0 win against William Jessup (Calif.) on Monday afternoon on a neutral site at Menlo College.
 
Rocky Mountain (3-0) got a hat trick from Chasen Lashure – the second of his career – in the win. Lashure scored all three of his goals in the second half.
 
Luca Wiechers and Matthew Thomas each scored for the Battlin’ Bears in the first half to help the team take a 2-0 advantage into the break. Marco Kummerle added the fourth second-half goal for the Bears.
 
Rocky took 27 shots in the game with 12 of those on goal. Lashure, Kummerle and Thomas each attempted five shots in the win. Kummerle had an assist on three of the goals.
 
William Jessup (2-2) got nine shots away and put five on goa. Cole Catlin and Kristofer Wennin combined on the shutout for Rocky. Catlin earned the win with two saves in 62 minutes. Wennin preserved the clean sheet with three saves.
 
The Bears will play a final non-conference game on Sunday when they visit University of Mary (N.D.) at noon.
