Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period January 8 - 14.
Michael Loomis
Men’s Basketball
Northwest Christian’s Michael Loomis has been named the Red Lion men’s basketball Player of the Week.
Loomis, a senior forward from West Linn, Ore., had quite the take over this weekend with both games, lifting the Beacons on his back as they swept back-to-back games against NAIA Top-25 opponents. Loomis averaged 32.5 points and 19 rebounds while shooting 52% from the field. Additionally, he posted the first 30/20 game in NCU history in the overtime victory against Oregon Tech with a regulation tying three-pointer while already scoring 32 points and 21 rebounds. His 36 points matched an NCU high since joining the NAIA in 2006 and sets a new Beacon record for points in a Cascade Conference game.

Joseph Dotson
Men’s Indoor - Field
Southern Oregon’s Joseph Dotson has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Dotson, a junior from Siuslaw, Ore., recorded the No. 3 heptathlon score in the NAIA this season in his first ever race. The two-time All-American had the top marks in the competition’s shot put (37-9 1/2), pole vault (13-9 1/4) and 1,000-meter run (2:45.81).

Matthew Kirkendall
Men’s Indoor - Track
Eastern Oregon’s Matthew Kirkendall has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Kirkendall, a senior from Menifee, Calif., placed third overall in the men’s 60-meter hurdles against all Division I competitors in the finals. Kirkendall finished in 8.24 seconds, hitting a national “A” standard mark and just .04 seconds off his personal best.

Justin Harbison
Wrestling
Justin Harbison of Providence has been named the Red Lion Wrestler of the Week.
Harbison, a sophomore from Missoula, Mont., went all the way up to heavyweight for the Tyler Plummer Classic after starting the 2017-18 season as a 184 wrestler, and dominated a slew of bigger wrestlers. He went 4-0 to take first place, winning each match by fall. His best performance was pinning #20 Phil Rasussen of Morningside in the 1:38 during the first place match.

Maya Ah You-Dias
Women’s Basketball
Eastern Oregon’s Maya Ah You Dias has been named the Red Lion women’s basketball Player of the Week.
Ah You Dias, a junior guard from Middleton, Idaho, led the Mountaineers to back-to-back blow out wins over conference opponents Multnomah and Warner Pacific, while playing just 20 minutes in each game. EOU extended its winning streak to 12 games with the victories and 11-0 in the CCC with all 11 wins by double-digits. Ah You Dias scored more than 20 points in each game making it her 6th and 7th games with 20 points this season.

Hayley Morse
Women’s Indoor - Field
College of Idaho’s Hayley Morse has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Morse, a senior from Boise, ID, broke two school records, facing mostly NCAA Division I opponents at the Ed Jacoby Invite. She broke the weight throw record on Friday (50-9 1/2) and hit the NAIA “A” standard with her record in the shot put (44-7 1/2)

Sarah Estabrook
Women’s Indoor - Track
Sarah Estabrook of Northwest has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Estabrook, a senior from Bonanza, Ore., running her in her first indoor meet of the year, finished 7th in a field of 19 runners at the University of Washington Indoor Preview Meet as the only NAIA entrant in a field comprised of NCAA Division I, II and III competition. Her time of 10:27.57 met the NAIA “A” qualifying standard and is No. 1 in the NAIA so far this season.
