Lions Shoot Over Wolves

College Place, Wash. Lions jumped out to a quick lead and the Wolves are unable to come back in a tough game Thursday Evening.
The Wolves start with the lead off a free throw from Dylan Browning and a layup from Jacob Vargas. The Wolves were not able to maintain the lead, and with 13 minutes remaining the game is tied up 13-13. Ryan Paulsen hit a three-pointer for the Lions, and the Wolves never saw the lead again. Brett Blackstock and Paulsen with consecutive three's to build the lead to 19-13. A layup from Cameron Silver and an Alec Calloway jumper brought some life back to Walla Walla, but the Wolves defense was no match for Blackstock and Paulsen. Paulsen had back to back threes with 9 minutes left to build the Lions lead to 31-20. A Paulsen three with one minute left in the half put the Lions up double digits 39-29, heading into halftime.
The Lions started off with back to back 3s from Ben Grandle and Blackstock, putting the Lions ahead 45-29. Michael Isotalo retaliated with back to back threes for the Wolves, but they still found themselves down by 13. The Lions stayed in the lead throughout the second half, consistently up by 10 points. Blackstock and Paulsen continued to drain shots from deep that kept the Wolves from making a comeback. Michael Isotalo hit a three with 3 minutes remaining, cutting the lead to 72-59. Silver scored four points, Isotalo hit a three, and Zavala topped off the run with a layup to bring the Wolves within 7-points with 1:30 left. Walla Walla would not be able to get any closer, losing 82-72 to Multnomah.
The Lions were led tonight by Brett Blackstock with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 3FG, and Ryan Paulsen with 20 points, and 6 3FG as well. The Wolves were led by Michael Isotalo with 15 points, and 5 3FGs, and Dinesh Brown and Jacob Vargas with 11 points each.
