The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period January 15-21.

Max McCullough

Men’s Basketball
Max McCullough of Eastern Oregon has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

McCullough a sophomore guard from Post Falls, Idaho, had two great performances again as the CCC’s leading scorer averaged nearly 30 points in two wins on the road at Corban and Northwest Christian. McCullough dropped 36 against a tough NCU squad on Saturday to lead the Mountaineers to their conference leading 8th-straight win and 18th overall. McCullough scored at least 20 points for the 11th and 12th times this season as he averages 21.9 PPG and 22.3 in conference games. Additionally, he shot 46% from the field, 44% from behind the arc and 93% from the free throw line this weekend.

Josh Brown

Men’s Indoor - Field
College of Idaho’s Josh Brown has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Brown, a junior from Colfax, WA, placed second overall in the weight throw at the Bronco Invitational, hitting a NAIA “B” standard with the second best mark in program history.

Michael Slagowski

Men’s Indoor - Track
Michael Slagowski of Eastern Oregon has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Slagowski, a freshman from Meridian, Idaho, won the 600- meter title at the Bronco Invitational, hitting an “A” standard mark to nationals with a time of 1:19.64. His time was also good for a program record in the event as the redshirt freshman opened his collegiate career with the Mountaineers impressively. The time is also the second fastest time in the NAIA this season.

Isaac Bartel

Wrestling
Montana State-Northern’s Isaac Bartel has been named the Red Lion Wrestler of the Week.

Bartel, a freshman from Mason City, IA, placed 1st at the Missouri Valley Invite going 5-0 at 197 and helped his team to secure the sixth place finish out of 30 teams.

Remi Mejia

Women’s Basketball
Southern Oregon’s Remi Mejia has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Mejia, a senior guard from Medford, Ore., made three of more 3-pointers for the 13th and 14th games in a row as SOU extended its winning streak to 11 games and improved to 18-1 for the 3rd year in a row. Mejia additionally scored 14 points in the 4th against Evergreen as the Raiders erased a nine-point deficit during that quarter.

Ebony Wilson

Women’s Indoor - Field
Eastern Oregon’s Ebony Wilson has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Wilson, a freshman from Hermiston, Ore., set program records and hit NAIA “A” standard marks in both the women’s long jump and the triple jump to already punch her ticket to nationals in both events. The freshman placed third in each event, jumping 5.62 meters (18’ 5.25”) in the long jump before reaching 11.40 meters (37’5”) in the triple jump. She finished behind NCAA Division I competition in the long jump.

Jessa Perkinson

Women’s Indoor - Track
Jessa Perkinson of Southern Oregon has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Perkinson, a senior from Roseburg, Ore., celebrated her season debut with a 3K win that converted to an NAIA “A” standard time of 10:14.72, which currently stands at the top spot on the national list by a margin of 8.5 seconds. She finished nearly 13 seconds ahead of Sac State runner-up Gracie Albano in the 18-person race.
