Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period January 1-7.
Collin Malcolm
Men’s Basketball
Collin Malcolm of Warner Pacific has been named the Red Lion men’s basketball Player of the Week.
Malcolm, a junior forward from Ashland, Ore., averaged 27 points and 10 rebounds per game, helping Warner Pacific to victories over Corban and Northwest Christian. He shot 65 percent from the field and 80 percent from the free throw line.

Devin Poppen
Wrestling
Southern Oregon’s Devin Poppen has been named the Red Lion Wrestler of the Week.
Poppen, a junior from Oregon City, Ore., went 6-0 on the week and was named the Menlo Invitational’s Outstanding Lightweight Wrestler, helping No. 13 SOU edge San Francisco State and No. 8 Menlo for a team title. He had the dual-deciding bonus points in a 20-18 upset at 6th-ranked Providence, then defeated No. 7 Matt Weber by decision in a 26-15 upset at 10th-ranked Montana State-Northern.

Mariah Swanson
Women’s Basketball
Eastern Oregon’s Mariah Swanson has been named the Red Lion women’s basketball Player of the Week.
Swanson, a senior forward from Seattle, Wash., had two strong games as she helped lead EOU to its 9th and 10th straight wins. The post player made 7 three-pointers on 11 attempts as the Mounties had two 25-plus point victories. Swanson nearly had a double-double on Friday before posting 14 points and 7 boards on Saturday. Swanson is averaging 9.5 PPG and 6.2 RPG this season.
