The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period September 24-30.
 
 
Volleyball-Attacker

Evergreen’s Natalie Taylor has been chosen as the Red Lion volleyball Attacker of the Week.
 
Taylor, a reigning CCC First-Team All-Conference outside hitter, is coming off another exceptional week for the Geoducks. The senior from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho finished with 34 kills over the team’s two road victories, tallying just six errors and attacking at an impressive .308 clip. She also added 21 digs and eight block assists for the Geoducks in their weekend sweep.

Volleyball-Defender

Chloee Hunt of Evergreen has been named the Red Lion volleyball Defender of the Week.
 
Hunt made her presence felt at the net for the Geoducks in the squad’s weekend sweep, racking up 13 block assists in the team’s victories over Warner Pacific and Multnomah. Hunt was particularly clutch in the team’s nail-biter against Warner Pacific, notching nine digs in the five-set thriller. With 76 total blocks so far this season, Hunt continues to edge closer to the single-season school record.

Volleyball-Setter

Evergreen’s Sierra Wolff has been named the Red Lion volleyball Setter of the Week.
 
Wolff, familiar to the CCC Player of the Week list, earns the honors after another big weekend for the Geoducks. Wolff compiled 70 assists for the squad, while also tallying 25 digs, a solo block and five block assists. The Geoducks sweep this week’s volleyball Player of the Week plaudits after a strong showing in the team’s two CCC victories.

Women’s Soccer-Offense

Providence’s Eme McLaughlin has been named the Red Lion women’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
McLaughlin earns Player of the Week honors after an otherworldly pair of performances over the weekend. The Argos’ forward racked up seven goals in the team’s two home victories over Warner Pacific and Multnomah, tallying four goals against Warner Pacific, and collecting a hat trick—along with an assist—in the squad’s 6-0 victory over Multnomah. The junior from Great Falls, Mont. also broke the program records for single-season and career goals after her incredible efforts in the weekend sweep.

Women’s Soccer-Defense

Eastern Oregon’s Josee Bassett has been chosen as the Red Lion women’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Bassett, a junior from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, was crucial for the Mountaineers in the team’s doubleheader sweep over the weekend. The Eastern Oregon defense allowed just one shot on goal over its two shutout victories over College of Idaho and Rocky Mountain. The (RV) Mountaineers have now produced three shutouts in the team’s last four games.

Men’s Soccer-Offense

Pablo Ferreira of Rocky Mountain has been named the Red Lion men’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Ferreira, a sophomore from Minas Gerais, Brazil, is coming off an outstanding offensive weekend, collecting four goals during the Battlin’ Bears’ weekend sweep. After collecting a hat trick in the team’s blowout victory over Walla Walla, Ferreira netted the game-winner against Eastern Oregon, helping No. 14-ranked Rocky Mountain earn six points with a pair of big road wins.

Men’s Soccer-Defense

Southern Oregon’s Gonzalo Garcia has been named the Red Lion men’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Garcia was a significant contributor for the Raiders as the team extended its unbeaten streak to nine games over the weekend. The junior from Stockton, Calif. made an impact on both sides of the both, assisting the squad’s game-winner against Northwest Christian on Saturday, while also playing standout defense on Sunday, as the Raiders became the first team in 2018 to shut out No. 18-ranked Corban.

Women’s Cross Country

Oregon Tech’s Suzie Garza has been named the Red Lion women’s cross country Runner of the Week.
 
Garza was impressive yet again for the Lady Owls, recording the program’s fastest-ever time at the Willamette Invitational. Her 17:51 mark in the 5K was also good enough to earn a 2nd place finish as an individual, leading all collegiate runners and spearheading the No. 3-ranked Owls to the team title.
 
Honorable mention: Cass Brownell, NCU

Men’s Cross Country
 
Lane Inwards of Eastern Oregon has been named the Red Lion men’s cross country Runner of the Week.
 
Inwards, competing in his senior season, set a new personal record at the highly-competitive Willamette Invitational on Saturday, ending with a time of 25:22 in the 8K en route to a 5th place finish overall. Inwards finished at the top runner from the CCC, leading the way for the No. 7-ranked Mountaineers.
 
Honorable mention: Jacob Truitt, NCU
