Corban topples Rocky
BILLINGS, Mont., October 12, 2018 – In a battle at the top of the Cascade Conference standings, the No. 11 ranked Battlin' Bears (10-3, 6-2 CCC) fell to the No. 15 ranked Corban Warriors (10-1-1, 7-0-1 CCC) Friday afternoon.
The Battlin' Bears had won six conference wins in a row before today's match-up. With today's win, Corban has yet to lose to a conference opponent.
Rocky was unable to take advantage of numerous offensive opportunities. They out-shot Corban 21-7, yet never found the back of the net.
The Warrior's scored in the 28th minute as Corban's Kohl Hurtado nailed in a shot unassisted.
In the 78th minute, Levan Zhividze put a shot in goal off an assist from Travez White.
Rocky's Kristofer Wennin secured three saves with two goals allowed. Corban's Jordan Salim allowed no goals while pulling in six saves.
Rocky will turn around and host Northwest Christian on Sunday, Oct. 14 at Wendy's Field. The game will start at 2:30 p.m.
