ESTACADA, Ore. - Senior Cass Brownell was the top Cascade Collegiate Conference finisher at the Lewis & Clark Invitational on Saturday, leading the Beacons to a second-place finish. 

The No. 20 Beacons held their own against No. 10 Southern Oregon, taking a second-place finish. NCU scored 81 points, finishing 26 points behind the Raiders. The Beacons were well ahead the next CCC team as Corban took fifth place (164 points). 

Brownell took fourth place overall with a time of 21:36. Anika Rasubala wasn't far behind, clocking in at 21:43 to take sixth place. The Beacon's other three scorers came in as a pack with Melissa Rios leading the way in 22nd (22:36) followed by Emily Moon in 24th (22:42) and Moriah Duenich in 25th (22:43).
 
Also running for the Beacons were Victoria Messer (33rd, 23:13), Madeleine Rosebrook (73rd, 24:21), Bri Jury (83rd, 24:39), and Tea Chatelain (109th, 26:27).

In the men's race, the No. 16 Beacons took fourth place with 128 points. No. 3 Southern Oregon rolled to the victory with 28 points.
 
Jacob Truitt led the Beacons, taking seventh place with a time of 24:35. Isaac Sanchez was next, taking 25th (25:12) with Conner Covey close behind in 29th (25:14), finishing one second ahead of George Fox's Timothy Kaelin.
 
Also scoring for the Beacons were Carson Bain (39th, 25:33) and Andy Martinez (48th, 25:44). The Beacons other runners included Dan Carrier (25:52), Jacob Lackey (27:05), and Diego Delaplane (27:20).

It is now on to the post-season for the Beacons who will compete in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship on November 3 in Issaquah, Washington.
