LA GRANDE, Ore. – The No. 13 Eastern Oregon volleyball team defeated Multnomah in straight sets Saturday night in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.

The No. 13 Mountaineers (17-5, 12-2 CCC) bounced back with a weekend sweep of Warner Pacific and Multnomah after a tough loss in Ashland last Saturday. In the last 43 days, EOU has only been defeated one time.

Multnomah (4-18, 2-12 CCC) remains winless on the road this year. Their weekend isn't over yet, as they head to College Place, Washington for a Sunday afternoon contest with Walla Walla on Sunday.

EOU won with little resistance, cruising 25-17, 25-14, 25-17. Megan Bunn led the game with nine kills, being set-up by Madison Pilon and Sarah Carpenter. Pilon finished the night with a team-high 17 assists, followed by Carpenter with 15. Hailee Ackerman also accrued eight kills in the match.

Defensively, libero Kiley McMurtrey led the game with 13 digs. Multiple players recorded strong dig totals including Carpenter (8), Aspen Christiansen (6), and Holli Mullins (6).

The Mountaineers hit very efficiently as a team, finishing the contest with a .333 hitting percentage. Ackerman helped out the cause by hitting .471 on 17 attacks.

EOU will head to western Washington next weekend in a couple conference matchups with Northwest in Kirkland October 19th, and against Evergreen in Olympia on October 20th. The Mountaineers have six regular season games remaining this season, three of which will take place at Quinn Coliseum.
