ASHLAND – The Southern Oregon women's soccer team used an evening with Evergreen (Wash.) to spread the scoring love, striking four times before halftime in a 5-0 Cascade Conference victory Saturday at Raider Stadium.
In their sixth straight game without a loss, the Raiders (8-2-3 overall, 6-1-2 CCC) got their first two goals from freshman Kiani Pandoliano in the third and 18th minutes. She was assisted by Makena Totushek and Mia Volpatti, bringing her season total to five goals.
Maddie Casey got her first of the season with a 16-yard shot from the left side that she switched from her left to right foot off a Ruth Hegstad assist, and Hegstad dropped in her first goal of the year six minutes later.
In the 54th, Aislinn Waite added one more on another Volpatti setup. The assists were Volpatti's sixth and seventh of the season; she's registered five in SOU's last four games.
The Geoducks sunk to 2-11 and 1-7 in the CCC after getting blanked for the fourth straight game.
Jessie Selby was in goal for SOU's sixth shutout and made one save.
The Raiders are two points back of first-place Oregon Tech, their next opponent. The teams will face off at 6:30 p.m. next Saturday in Ashland.
