Rocky roars past Northwest Christian 5-0
BILLINGS, Mont. – The Rocky Mountain College women's soccer team won their third conference win in a row with a 5-0 victory over Northwest Christian.
Hannah Borgel opened up play for the Battlin' Bears with a goal off Lauryn Gamache in the tenth minute.
Gamache would score by herself in the 36th minute.
Up 2-0, Rocky didn't kept the pedal to metal coming into the second period.
Emily Browne scored in the 65th minute unassisted.
12 minutes later, Tiara Duford would score two goals in the span of two minutes to put the final nail in the coffin. Gamache picked up her second assist on the final goal.
The Battlin' Bears took advantage of a slew of offensive opportunities as they held a 23-7 shot advantage over the Beacons.
Rocky goalkeeper Maia Wetzel pulled in four saves in the shut-out win. Northwest Christian's Katie Hastings allowed five goals with 8 saves.
The Battlin' Bears will next play Warner Pacific in Portland, Ore. on Oct. 19. That action will kick off at 4 p.m.
