SOU Sports Information
Noah Oberriter, No. 3-ranked Southern Oregon University's senior All-American, on Wednesday was selected the NAIA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for his runner-up performance at Saturday's Lewis & Clark Invitational.
Oberriter is the first Raider men's runner to earn the award since Jared Hixon in 2015. On Monday, he was voted the Cascade Conference's Red Lion Runner of the Week.
A product of Truckee, Calif., Oberriter was the top collegiate finisher in an 8,000-meter field of 136 with a time of 24 minutes 11.5 seconds. He was one of five Raiders to finish in the top-13 as they ran away with the team title.
The race was Oberriter's second of the season. A year ago, he earned All-Cascade Conference status for the second time in XC with a third-place finish at the CCC Championships and two weeks later placed 16th at the NAIA Championships.
He and the Raiders will have their final regular-season meet Saturday in Rocklin, Calif., at the William Jessup Warrior Invite.
