BILLINGS, Mont. – While setting a school record on Monday and Tuesday, the (RV) Corban University men's golf team finished tied for second overall as a team at the Battlin' Bears Invite. This tournament marked by far the best rounds the Warriors have recorded during the 2018-19 campaign.

RESULTS

"We were pleased with our performance over these past two days, with numerous players shooting under par," said Corban head coach Tom Graves. "This tournament provided us with great experience, competing against one of the top teams in the NAIA. It was a great venue, and we want to thank Rocky Mountain College for being great hosts to us! We hope to return to this event in the future!"

As a team, the Warriors shot a school-record three-round mark of 844 (285, 279, 280), finishing at 8-under par. The under-par score marked the first time in school history the Warriors had ever broken par, and was eight strokes better than any other team performance before it. Additionally, Corban's round-two score of 279 (5-under par) was the lowest ever number a Warrior team has shot, but not quite to the 8-under single-round score Corban had recorded once before.

No. 14-ranked Rocky Mountain College won the tournament as a team, finishing with a tournament total of 801 at 51-under par as a team.

Isaac Calderon was outstanding for the Warriors, finishing in ninth overall with a total of 207 (72, 68, 67) at 6-under par individually. Aaron Seabrook was not far behind, tying for 11th with a 2-under par score of 211 (70, 69, 72).

Devery Stewart was just one stroke behind Seabrook with a mark of 212 (69, 72, 71), while Cameron Salkeld totaled 217 for the tournament (74, 70, 73). Marcus Frazier rounded out Corban's scoring golfers with a mark of 218 (74, 74, 70).

Corban returns to action on October 15-16 at the Vikes Shootout. Competition in Victoria, B.C. will take place all day both days at the Cordova Bay GC.
