Knights Upset #22 Rocky Mountain
PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific improved their CCC playoff chances with a 2-0 upset win over #22 Rocky Mountain at Eastside Timbers Soccer Complex today.
Octavio Hermosillo set the host Knights on the right path early, as the senior knocked in a goal just seven minutes into the contest.
The game looked to turn in RMC's favor after the Knights' Franklin Cordon was shown his second caution early in the second half. The visiting Bears pressed forward for a tying goal, and ended the game with 10 corner kicks but the WP defense held firm. WP tacked on the insurance goal in the 73rd minute, as Kingsley Armah found space at the top of the 18 and fired right of the keeper.
WPU improved to 6-7-1 overall and 4-5-1 in CCC play. Rocky Mountain fell to 11-4 and 7-3.
The Knights will honor 10 seniors on Saturday before the game versus College of Idaho.
