May Drops Career-High 37 as EOU Falls at Carroll 98-89 10/22/2018 9:52:10 PM HELENA, Mont. – Sophomore Jordan May had a career night, finishing with a career-best 37 points while shooting 13-for-17 from the field as the Eastern Oregon men’s basketball team fell 98-89 at Carroll College on Monday night. May dropped 26 of his 37 points in the first half as the Mounties took a 46-40 lead into the halftime locker room. However, the Mountaineers (2-1) allowed 58 second-half points, 23 by Carroll’s Matt Wyman, to lose control of the game late. The Blue and Gold continued to shoot well the entire game, making over 50 percent from the field and over 40 percent from behind the arc. Carroll woke up in the second half, however, shooting 57 percent from the floor and reaching the foul line 20 times. The Saints made 18-of-20 free throws in the second half. May’s career night included a 7-for-8 shooting game from behind the arc, along with six rebounds. Junior Joel Anderson added 16 points and five rebounds while junior Landon Jones added 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Newcomer Jarek Schetzle, playing in his first official game as a Mountie, posted 11 points with five boards. For Carroll, Wyman had a team-high 31 points. He was followed by Match Burnham with 21 points and Dane Warp with 19. The Mountaineers will remain on the road, heading to Vallejo, California for the Cal Maritime Tournament.
