SALEM, Ore. – While utilizing its depth and playing 22 players on Friday, the No. 16-ranked Corban University men's soccer team downed Multnomah University on Friday afternoon, 4-2. Four different goal scorers led the Warriors to the victory.

"We were pleased to get the result we needed while sharing minutes and keeping guys healthy," said Corban head coach Aaron Lewis. "We focus our attention now to a good Warner Pacific team fighting for a playoff spot tomorrow, coupled with senior day – it will have a playoff-type feel to it."

Alan Cruz Ramirez scored his first-career goal as a Warrior when he found the back of the net via a volley in the 16th minute of play off a beautiful cross from Camilo Avendano. Multnomah stayed compact defensively for the remainder of the first 45 minutes, however, and kept Corban off the board anymore.

In the second stanza, Julia Miranda blasted a long shot over the top of the goalkeeper in the 48th minute, putting Corban up by two goals. For Miranda, it was his second goal of the year.

Just a few minutes later, Alex Segovia received a pass from Miranda and after taking a touch to the inside, ripped a shot past Multnomah's goalkeeper from 18 yards out to make it a 3-0 lead.

The Warriors then made a number of substitutions, utilizing their depth, but Multnomah responded strong late with a header from Kelvin Perez that found the back of the net in the 73rd minute of play to pull a goal back.

Quentin Petcu provided the answer the Warriors were looking for, however, getting in behind the Lions' defense to bury a shot off a perfect pass from Clement Dushimimana. For Petcu, it marked his first-career goal as a Warrior.

Multnomah got a free kick late and put in another cross that found Ben Larson, and Larson did very well to head the ball into the side netting to make it 4-2.

That was all the scoring the match had for the night, however, as Corban finished with the 22-10 shots advantage and 11-2 corner-kick edge.

Corban (13-2-1, 10-1-1 CCC) returns to the field tomorrow evening for a Senior Night match against Warner Pacific University. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m., with senior night ceremonies beginning at around 4:15 p.m. at the CFC Soccer Complex.
