Battlin' Bears defeat Eagles 3-1
BILLINGS, Mont. – The Rocky Mountain College men's soccer team (14-4, 10-3 CCC) ended the 2018 regular season with a 3-1 win over Northwest University (3-9-4, 2-8-3 CCC).
Northwest University scored first in the 20th minute, but it would be the only time they would find the back of the net.
From there on out, Rocky's offense set the pace of play. The Battlin' Bears had a 23-7 shot advantage over the Eagles.
Rocky scored three goals in the second half of play.
Gregor Watson scored in the 48th minute off an assist from Marco Kummerle.
Nolan Sherwood knocked a ball in off of Alexander Taylor in the 67th minute.
Mason Luse scored off an assist from Kummerle in the 85th minute.
Rocky's goalkeeper, Kristofer Wennin, allowed a single goal with one save. Northwest's Blake Dornay pulled in nine saves with three goals allowed.
With the end of the 2018 regular season, Rocky prepares for the 2018 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Championships. The Battlin' Bears are seeded in third behind Southern Oregon and Corban. The tournament will be hosted by Northwest Christian University at the Willamalane Sports Complex in Springfield, Ore.
Rocky will play Evergreen State College on Nov. 7 at 8 p.m.
