Battlin' Bears conquer Fighting Saints 2-1
BILLINGS, Mont. – The No. 13 ranked Battlin' Bears (9-2, 5-1 CCC) took down the Fighting Saints (4-5, 3-4 CCC) in a 2-1 showdown Friday evening at Herb Klindt Field.
Continuing their streak of success within the conference, the Battlin' Bears secured their fifth win in a row.
Carroll College's Paulo Georgiades scored the first and only goal for the Fighting Saints in the seventh minute off an assist from Jose Porras.
Rocky's Mason Luse would find the back of the net unassisted in the 24th minute to put the Battlin' Bears on the board.
The game winning goal went to Nolan Sherwood who pushed the Battlin' Bears ahead in the 61st minute. Tulio Melo assisted.
Rocky had plenty of offensive opportunities as they held a 18-13 shot advantage over Carroll.
Rocky's goalkeeper Kristofer Wennin allowed one goal and took in two saves. Carroll College's goalkeeper Kaden Connor secured four saves with two goals allowed.
Rocky will quickly turn around and host University of Providence on Sunday. That action will start at 1:00 p.m.
