EOU Drops Dual at Top-Ranked Clackamas CC
CLACKAMAS, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon men’s wrestling team battled the No. 4 ranked junior college in the nation, falling 34-10 to Clackamas Community College on Saturday afternoon.
The Mountaineers (1-3) earned three wins in the dual, but ultimately fell to the Cougars. Junior Tyler Miler, freshman Keegan Mulhill and senior Drake Randall each picked up victories for EOU.
After falling behind 8-0, the Mounties picked up their first win of the day as Miler earned an 8-5 decision at the 141-pound weight class as he continues to roll in the early season. Miler defeated the No. 6-ranked wrestler Elijah Ozuna according to InterMat.
Mulhill answered a Cougars’ pin with a 6-3 victory by decision at 157 pounds to cut EOU’s deficit to 13-6. Mulhill bested the Cougars’ Braedon Orinno. At 174-pounds Randall, ranked No. 8, defeated Clackamas’ Beau Bradley by a 12-4 major decision.
The Mountaineers were unable to score any further points, however, falling 34-10.
The Blue and Gold continue action on Sunday at the Mike Clock Open in Forest Grove, Ore.
