Evergreen broke away from visiting Portland Bible late in the first half and went on to take a 93-68 win in non-conference men's basketball action inside Costantino Recreation Center on Saturday night.

Malik Redmond scored 17 points to lead three players in double-figure scoring for the Geoducks (2-2), while Payton Moore from Portland Bible (0-6) took game-high scoring honors with 18 points.

Evergreen led by as many as five points in the opening five minutes, only to see the Wildcats rally to take the lead at 12-11 on a three-pointer by Moore. The visitors stayed on top until the Geoducks took the lead for good on an Elijah Fuller three-point basket with 6:59 to play in the opening half. Evergreen eventually built a 48-35 advantage at the intermission.

The Geoducks played add on in the second half and led by as much as 28 points, 86-58, following a layin by Hanley Shum with 4:39 to play.

In addition to Redmond's 17 points, Fuller scored 16 and Shum 14 for the Geoducks, who were led in rebounding by Ryan Quigley's 10. Both Fuller and Brandon Kohler had five assists, and Kohler had a solid line with nine points, two blocks and one steal. Evergreen shot 51 percent overall (36-for-70) and 42 percent from three-point range (10-for-24). 

In addition to Moore's 18 points, the visitors got double-figure scoring from Durham Rosser with 14 and Skylar Geisser with 11. Moore grabbed seven rebounds to lead his team to a 38-36 advantage in that statistic. 

The Geoducks take a break over the Thanksgiving holiday before opening Cascade Collegiate Conference play at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, against the visiting Warner Pacific Knights.
