Kirkland, Wash. – Northwest University (2-3) lost to the Lewis-Clark State College Warriors (6-0) on Friday night with a final score of 89-53.

An 11-0 run early on in the game put the Warriors up 13-3, and when the first quarter buzzer sounded, they were up 17-11. The Eagles could not match this effort, and never got within 8 points of the Warriors’ score for the rest of the game, eventually losing by 36.

The Eagles’ Lexi Biggerstaff had an impressive outing despite the loss, gathering up a team-leading 16 points and four assists. Freshman Ellesse Fitzgerald added 13 points as well.

The Warriors dominated the Eagles in both field goal percentage and rebounding totals, shooting 56% from the floor, and gathering in 44 rebounds in the game.

Northwest head coach Ken Crawford remarked, “A tough loss against an excellent LC State team. An outstanding opportunity to learn what it takes to play and win at this level. Hopefully it will create a determination to learn from the experience. We will be back at it tomorrow.”
