No. 4 Argos Place Nine at Spokane Open

SPOKANE, Wash. – The No. 4 University of Providence men's wrestling team placed nine at the Spokane Open, including two top-place finishes and a pair of runner-up finishes.
 
At 157 pounds, No. 3 Casey Dobson was the Argos top placer during the Spokane Open as he earned a 3-1 decision over North Idaho College's Bryce Parson to claim first. Jarren Komac finished fourth as he fell in the third-place match to Simon Fraser's Taber Spray in a 9-5 decision.
 
No. 2 Adrian Lyons-Lopez was the other Argo to claim a top-place finish as he defeated MSU-Northern's Chris Nile by a 3-2 decision.
 
In the 149-pound weight class, No. 6 Shonn Roberts fell in a 11-6 decision to Southern Oregon's Chandler Michael to finish second.
 
No. 8 John Hensley fell in the championship match at 197-pounds to MSU-Northern's Isaac Bartel by a 11-4 decision, finishing second. AJ Hoggatt also placed for Providence in the weight class as he lost to Simon Fraser's Nolan Badovinac by a tech fall 18-0.
 
In the 141-pound weight class, TJ Baun defeated Southern Oregon's Devin Poppen by rule to claim a third-place finish.
 
Jordan Komac placed fifth for the Argos at 165 pounds as he picked up a win by forfeit over Colton Beisley of Oregon State.
 
Lastly, No. 7 Mathew Hopkins claimed fifth place in the heavyweight class as he earned a medical forfeit over Warner Pacific's Cortez Rodelo.

The Argos will have a little time off before they host the Battle of the Rockies on November 30 and December 1 at the McLaughlin Center.
