Mountaineers Score Season-High 82 Points in Win at Wiley College 11/21/2018 11:38:12 PM MARSHALL, Texas – The No. 7 Eastern Oregon women’s basketball team scored a season-high in points in an 82-62 victory at Wiley College on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Maren Herrud came off the bench to score 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting, leading three scores in double-digits. After 20 minutes of play, EOU (2-2) led 41-34, but extended their lead by 11 after limiting the Wildcats to just five points in the third quarter. The Mountaineers shot nearly 50 percent (35-for-71) from the floor in their best shooting game of the young season. Junior Julia Hanni finished with 14 points on 6-for-10 shooting, adding five rebounds. Junior Jane Nelson also reached double-digits with 10 points. On the boards, freshman Beverly Slater paced EOU with 12 rebounds. Junior Madison Crews had a team-high five assists while senior Khadija Neumeyer had six points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. As a team, the Blue and Gold dominated in the paint, holding a 54-31 advantage in rebounds. EOU had 18 offensive boards, leading to 15 second-chance points. The Mountaineers will have Thanksgiving day off, before playing back-to-back games at Paul Quinn College on Friday and Saturday in Dallas, Texas.
