LC State Pulls Away Late, Defeats WP 84-63
PORTLAND, Ore. – Lewis-Clark State pulled away late and cruised to a 84-63 win at Warner Pacific today at Bart Valentine Court.
The host Knights (6-2) went on a 12-5 run to open the second half, turning a five point deficit into a 45-43 lead. The advantage did not last long however as the visiting Warriors (5-1) steadily took control and led by as many as 23 points toward the end of the game.
WPU could not find the range from behind the arc, making just 3 of 17 tries which contributed to a 42 percent shooting effort overall from the floor. LC State connected at a 53 percent clip and 59 percent in the second half, contributing to the final margin.
Collin Malcolm scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Warner Pacific. Khiry Williams was the only other Knight in double figures, tossing in 11 points.
Five LCSC players reached double digit scoring, led by Dana Abe with 18 points off the bench. Damek Mitchell passed for a game high 9 assists.
