14 Mounties Score in 122-61 Crushing of Northwest Indian 11/24/2018 7:32:46 PM CALDWELL, Idaho. – The Eastern Oregon men’s basketball team used an all-around team effort, with 14 different players scoring points, to dominate Northwest Indian College 122-61 in the second game of the Taco Bell Shootout on Saturday. The Mountaineers (4-6) won both games of the tournament, also earning a victory over Montana Western on Friday. All 14 players who touched the floor on Saturday scored points for EOU, as the Mounties led the game from start to finish. Once again, sophomore Jordan May led the offense with 21 points, scoring 20 points for the sixth time this season. All of May’s points came from behind the arc as he shot 7-for-9 from long range. Senior Peter Eke had his best game of the season, posting 20 points and six rebounds while making 7-of-11 shots. Also reaching double-digit points was Linton McAllister and Jarek Schetzle. Playing in his first game of the season, McAllister scored 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting while Schetzle had 11 points on 5-for-5 shooting along with six boards. The Mountaineers dominated in all facets of Saturday’s game, shooting nearly 57 perecent from the field and 55 percent from behind the arc. On the glass, the Mounties held a 56-23 advantage while turning the ball over just nine times. Eastern Oregon is next home to open Cascade College Conference play, hosting Southern Oregon on Friday and Oregon Tech on Saturday at Quinn Coliseum. Tip off for both games from La Grande.
