Kirkland, Wash. – Northwest University (15-13, 11-8 CCC) beat Warner Pacific University (9-16, 7-12 CCC) at home on Friday night in three straight sets.
Sarah Warner led the Eagles with 10 kills and 13 digs. Cristina Hegarty helped fortify the Eagles’ defense as well with 15 digs. Keann White and Audrey Saelens aided in the attack with 9 and 8 kills, respectively.
After winning the first two sets (25-19, 25-23), Northwest recovered from an 8-0 run by the Knights late in the third set by answering with a 5-0 run of their own. They ended up winning this final set of the game 29-27.
This was an exciting game for the Eagles, who finish off their regular season with a game against Multnomah University on Saturday night.
Northwest head coach Steve Bain commented, “When you play Warner Pacific you can expect a team that is well prepared and one that will fight for every point. The third set was a case in point as they battled back to push the set to the limit. Credit our ladies though to not give in as well. We showed some grit when the third set was on the line and I was proud of the way we hung in there to close out the match.”
