Volleyball All-Conference Team Announced, with Ristvedt and Wolff Highlighting Award Winners
ASHLAND, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) announced the 2018 Volleyball All-Conference team on Thursday evening, honoring the conference’s elite competitors for their outstanding performances on the court in 2018.
Highlighting the awards were Southern Oregon’s Taylor Ristvedt, who was named the CCC Player of the Year, and Evergreen’s Sierra Wolff, who was selected as the conference’s Freshman of the Year. Ristvedt was the most dangerous weapon on one of the country’s most dangerous teams, averaging 3.31 kills per set, and attacking at an efficient .354 clip throughout the 2018 season. Wolff, a three-time CCC Setter of the Week honoree, was huge in the Geoducks’ historic season, tallying 932 total assists (third-best in the CCC) and averaging 8.88 assists per set as a rookie. Wolff represents the Evergreen volleyball program’s first-ever special award winner.
It was a three-way tie for Libero of the Year honors, with College of Idaho’s Drew Dobney (4.46 digs per set, ranking first in the CCC), Eastern Oregon’s Kiley McMurtrey (4.41 digs per set, ranking second in the CCC), and Southern Oregon’s Emma Ryan (3.68 digs per set, ranking 10th in the CCC) each earning the accolades for their respective efforts.
Southern Oregon’s head coach, Josh Rohlfing, receives Coach of the Year recognition after leading his squad (24-3, 17-3 CCC) to a share of the CCC Regular-Season Championship and repeated appearances in the NAIA Top-10 rankings during his 12th year at the helm of the Raiders.
