PORTLAND – Kayla Alvarez made 12 second half points as the Multnomah University women's basketball team broke away from Walla Walla University, winning 66-55 on Jim Skagen Court.

GAME SUMMARY:
- Multnomah made an emphasis on defense throughout the night, holding Walla Walla to only 12 percent shooting in the first half, taking a 28-15 lead at the break.
- MU finished with a 35 percent field goal percentage while holding the Wolves to 28 percent overall and 23 percent from three-point range.
- Sequoia Wheeler knocked down a last second three in the closing moments of the third quarter as the Lions took a 48-25 advantage.
- MU's lead reached as high as 25-points as Walla Walla closed the gap to 11 in the bottom stretch.
KEY PERFORMERS:
- Alvarez finished with a team high 17 points, going 4-of-7 from three-point range. Following her was Alaygza Portis with 15 points and Wheeler with eight.
- Paris Sanders finished with a team high eight rebounds
- For WWU, Aaliyah Anderson finished with a game high 18 points.
