LACEY - Saint Martin's hit 15 three-point shots Friday night to defeat Evergreen, 94-57, in the Geoducks' final non-conference men's basketball game of the 2018-19 season.
The Saints (8-1), who are ranked in two separate NCAA Division II Top 25 national polls, shot 15-for-35 from beyond the three-point line and put five players in double figures. Rhett Baerlocher led Saint Martin's with 17 points, and Jordan Kitchen pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the home team to a 48-31 advantage in that category.
Elijah Fuller scored 15 points and Dalton Groenewold added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds for the Geoducks, who shot just 40.4 percent overall and 26.7 percent from three-point range.
Evergreen got on the board first on Fuller's three-point basket just seven seconds into the game, and a Brandon Kohler layup tied the game at 11-11 about 4 1/2 minutes into the contest. Saint Martin's EJ Boyce hit a three on his team's next possession, and the hosts never again trailed.
The Geoducks return to Cascade Collegiate Conference action on Friday, Dec. 14, when they play the Oregon Tech Owls in Klamath Falls, Ore.
