SEATTLE, Wash. – The Northwest University Eagles were in the Dempsey Indoor Facility again today for the UW Open Meet. The Dempsey was packed with fans and entrants who traveled from as far as Hawaii and Florida to compete in the meet.

Sarah Estabrook took 14th overall in the indoor mile in a field of 55 runners and the only NAIA entrant, finishing the distance in a pre-adjusted time of 5:07.09. She was 6th in her heat. Her adjusted time should still be a NAIA qualifying mark as that should be posted later tonight.

TJ Randle was 8th overall in a field of 16 runners and 4th in his heat in the men’s 600m run. He crossed the finish line in 1:23.58.

Kyle Cole was 10th in his heat in the men’s mile running the distance in 4:28.55 while Craig Lambert placed 11th in his heat coming across the finish line in 4:32.44.

Riley Sine was 2nd in his heat and 29th overall in the men’s 3000m run with 70 runners entered in the event. His time was 8:36.56, .31 seconds behind the #28 runner.

Carter Cunningham was 8th in his flight, 21st overall, in the men’s weight throw with a toss of 11.94m (39-02.25) and teammate Landon Warne was 12th with his distance of 9.59m (31-05.75).

“It was a good meet for us today,” said NU coach, Mark Mandi. “I think everyone is competing better as the season goes on and that’s what you hope for as a coach. Sarah Estabrook continues to have an outstanding senior season with a NAIA qualifying mark in her third event. Riley Sine had a great race in the 3k today. He looked tough out there and is really excited to compete at (NAIA) nationals.”
